Brockwitz Cloud Glass |
|
 |
Brockwitzer
Glasfabrik AG was founded in 1903 at Brockwitz near Dresden and was making glass
until 1990. In 1929 the company ran into financial trouble and was taken
over in 1932 by a group of American investors - The General Mortgage Credits
Corporation of New Jersey. The company was nationalised after World War II.
The
company appears to have made the usual range of domestic glassware, including
drinking glasses and lamp shades. At the present time we do not know how
extensive their range of Cloud Glass was, or the dates of manufacture. At
present we only know they made some styles in Amber Cloud. Research is
continuing.
As well as the bowls
listed below, vases in the Meissen pattern have also been found in Amber Cloud
Glass.
