Green Cloud glass was first shown at the British Industries fair in 1934. The earliest trial production run was in February 1933 when they made 11 No 283 8" flower bowls. The main production did not start until later that year. Green Cloud Glass consists of green trails on a clear flint base. The green used can vary from a very pale washed out green to quite a deep colour. As a result, Green Cloud Glass probably has the most varied range of appearances.

Like the other colours Green Cloud is normally found with one surface polished and one matt. The candlesticks, left, are an example where both sides are polished. From a distance the cloud effect is not evident and the candlesticks appear to be made from green glass. Flower bowls in Green Cloud came with matching stand and flower block. Production of Green continued until 1941. Green Cloud does not appear to have been produced after the war.

Another type of Green Cloud Glass is the Lime-Green made by the Reich company. An example of a Lime-Green candlestick is shown on the right. The green in these designs is much paler than the Davidson Green, and always less heavily trailed.

Some of Davidson's production records survive, in particular the Accounts Books for 1932 to 1945. These accounts are a record the glass produced by each of the glassmakers. From these we are able to determine approximately how many items of each style were made. The yearly totals for Green Cloud Glass are given in the table below. In reading the table, the following caveats apply:

1. The figures are based on the number of items for which the glassmaker was paid. We know from other Davidson records that as much as 20% of the glass produced was never sold due to such things as breakages and theft. Also the glassmaker may have been paid even if the glass was unsuitable for reasons outside of his control.
2. Errors were sometimes made in recording the style made. This obviously did not concern the glassmaker providing he got paid the correct amount.
3. No records are available for 1941. We know that no Green Cloud was made in 1942, so it is safe to assume that very little was made in 1941.
4. As far as is known, no Green Cloud Glass was made after the war. Therefore this table is a record of all Green Cloud production bar 1941.
