Registered Designs 1931 to 1945

In the late 1930s the Japanese started copying the popular Davidson 'Barrel Can' mug (Design No 802751, Pattern No 255) and selling it at a lower price in the Australian market. At the beginning of 1939 the Davidson directors become concerned and decided to  register some of their new designs in Australia to protect this market. In late 1940 W Hills of their Sydney agents, T W Heath & Co, was granted power of attorney to sign documents regarding design registration in Australia. Only three of Davidson's designs are known to be registered in both Britain and Australia.
