Identifying Davidson Victorian Glass - Other Styles

Size(s):  9 1/2 inches long, 2 inches wide and 2 1/2 inches high
Date Introduced: 1894
Description:  A posy or pen holder in the shape of a boat on wheels. The design for this boat was registered in 1894 (Design No. 243116).

 

Davidson Pattern No:  1897 Pattern Canoe
Known Colours:  Flint, Amber, Pearline

Date Introduced: 1896
Description:  A posy or pen holder in the shape of a canoe. This example is in the 1897 pattern (Design No. 285342). The canoe shape was used with a number of different patterns. It is often found in Pearline colours
Davidson Pattern No:  Thimble No 1
Known Colours:  Amber, Flint, Marble
Size(s):  2 1/2 inches high, 2 inches diameter
Date Introduced: Mid 1880s
Description:  A novelty whiskey tot. Around the edge are the words 'JUST A THIMBLE FULL'. This example does not have the Lion trade mark, so was probably made after 1890.
Davidson Pattern No:  217 and 235 (posy), 136 (Celery)
Known Colours:  Amber, Green, Flint, Marble
Size(s):  Two sizes of posy, one size celery
Date Introduced: Mid 1880s
Description:  A quatrefoil shaped posy/celery on four feet. The posy vase came in two sizes and the celery in a single size. This example has the Lion trade mark on the base.

Description:  A lidded biscuit barrel in the same quatrefoil design as the posy above. This example has the Lion trade mark on the base and the lid.
Davidson Pattern No:  1888 Pattern Basket
Known Colours:  Flint, Pearline

Date Introduced: 1888
Description:  A basket in the 1888 pattern (Design No. 96945). This style of basket was also made in many of the designs made in the 1890s.
Davidson Pattern No:  1891 Pattern Basket
Known Colours:  Flint, Pearline, Blue

Date Introduced: 1891
Description:  A basket similar in design to the one above this time in the 1891 pattern (Design 176566).
